PolyMet Mining Corporation, a mine development company focused exclusively on the NorthMet copper-nickel-precious metals project in Hoyt Lakes, Minnesota is currently in the late stages of a comprehensive environmental review and permitting process. Working with state and federal agencies, they are demonstrating that the NorthMet project will meet Minnesota's environmental standards, which are among the strictest in the country.
PolyMet is focused on being a good corporate citizen through both their environmental mining practices and community engagement. As the company moves into the late stages of the environmental review process, they seek to raise the profile of mining's positive economic and social impacts to the entire state of Minnesota. To that end, the St. Cloud Area Chamber of Commerce is partnering with Polymet to provide information and education about the NorthMet project and its impact on all of Minnesota's economy.
