DESCRIPTION:This new program\, Performance Management Series: The Essentials of Leadership\, explores hot topics in today's workforce.  Designed for business executives\, the series provides continued training for business owners\, managers or supervisors.  The series is on three dates\, listed below.  The cost for the program is $20/session or $50 for all three for Chamber members and $30/session or $75 for all three for the general public. If you do not want to sign up for the entire series\, please indicate which session(s) you would like to attend.\n\nThe Energy Bus - October 17\, 8-9:30 a.m.  Discover 10 rules to fuel your life\, work and team with positive energy.  This session\, based on the book The Energy Bus by Jon Gordon\, will explore the importance of positive energy\, the fable of The Energy Bus\, and 10 rules for the ride of your life.  Jim Beck\, campus director at the Minnesota School of Business\, is presenting this session.\n\nAdapting to Change - October 31\, 8-9:30 a.m.  Challenging the misconceptions of change in the workplace will help businesses transition through change and establish greater loyalty among emplyees.  Explore the stages of change\, understand personal preferences and challenge the status quo at this session.  Melanie Hartman\, High Impact Training\, is speaking at this session.\n\n(Please note the following two sessions are on the same date)\nCivility in the Workplace - November 14\, 8-8:45 a.m.  Learn the differences in civility and incivility in the workplace and discover the prevalence\, major causes\, and consequences of workplace incivility.  This session also explores organizational interventions for dealing with this workplace problem.  The speaker for this session is Richard J. Sebastian\, past Chair and Professor Emeritus of Management at St. Cloud State University.\n\nRetaining Talent - November 14\, 8:45-9:30 a.m.  Leaders play a critical role in creating a culture that encourages employees to stick around.  Identify the interpersonal skills needed to build strong relationships with top-performing employees and determine what actions you can take to increase the likelihood of your best performers wanting to stay with your company.  David Grossman\, Insperity\, is the speaker for this session.
