DESCRIPTION:Continuing the Conversation on Race: Economic Opportunities As the workforce and customers change\, how can companies\, managers\, and employees become more competitive by being responsive to those opportunities?  One way is to be more attentive to factors that attract or dissuade potential employees and customers from seeking out your firm with which to do business.  The St. Cloud Area Chamber of Commerce\, United Way of Central Minnesota and Central Minnesota Community Foundation are sponsoring this event.     Dr. Reatha Clark King will speak about the economic opportunities of the region's changing demographics.  Dr. King currently serves as a Senior Advisor of the Exxon Mobil Corporation and Lenox Group Inc.  Her past accomplishments include serving  as former president and board chair of the General Mills Foundation\, president of Metropolitan State University in the Twin Cities\, board member of the Wells Fargo Company\, Minnesota Mutual Companies and H. B. Fuller Company.  She is a current board member of the National Association of Corporate Directors (NACD)\, VocalEssence\, Inc\, the International Trachoma Initiative in New York City\, a Life Trustee of the University of Chicago and vice-chair of the 2008 Minnesota Susquicentennial Commission.  Dr. King's speech will be followed by the opportunity to dialogue about this critical issue facing our community. Create CommUNITY's vision is to provide a welcoming non-discriminatory environment with respect and opportunity for all.  Its mission is to dismantle racism through systemic change by focusing on closing the racial disparity gaps in accessing health care\, housing\, and educational attainment.   Registration is at 10:30 AM\, and lunch and the program begins at 11:00 AM. Registration is required by October 15 by calling 320-251-2940\, extension 126 or registrations@StCloudAreaChamber.com.
