DESCRIPTION:The St. Cloud Area Chamber of Commerce Business Book Club gives an opportunity to members to engage in in-depth personal discussion\, networking\, and professional development through a series of highly recommended books by CIO Magazine.  Joining others in a reading group not only provides\nimpetus for keeping up with the latest business books but\, more importantly\, being part of a reading group can stimulate your own thinking.  You must purchase your own book.  Some of the books may also be available as MP3 downloads or on CD.  The book for this series\, Working with Emotional Intelligence\, is authored by Daniel Goleman.  The single most important factor in job performance and advancement is emotional intelligence.  Emotional intelligence is a set of skills that anyone can acquire.  Daniel Goleman clearly identifies them\, explains their importance\, and shows howthey can be fostered.  For leaders\, emotional intelligence is almost 90 percent of what sets the stars apart from the mediocre.  Emotional intelligence is an essential ingredient for reaching and staying at the top.  Chapters 7-11 will be discussed during this session.  Lunch is included.
